ABOUT US

White Oak Fellowship is a family of faith and love with a commitment to making disciples, teaching disciples, and enabling disciples for life in Christ Jesus.

OUR PASTOR

Pastor Jim Rogers has over 50 years experience in pastoral ministry and teaching the Word. He began his first pastorate at age 17. His ministry is focused on sharing the love of our Heavenly Father as revealed in the person of Jesus Christ our Lord. His emphasis is preaching the word and providing pastor care to our church family. His desire is to follow the mandate of Jesus to make disciples, equip disciples, and send out disciples to do ministry.

He has studied (from 1969-1977) at Jacksonville Baptist College, East Texas Baptist University, Luther Rice Seminary, and Clinical Pastoral Education at Big Springs State Hospital. His Christian reading has focused on Charles Spurgeon, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Frederick Buechner, Arthur Pink, Charles Swindoll, and many more. Needless to say, a wide variety of thought. However, he is anchored in the Bible.

In 2011, Jim spent a year fighting two separate cancers. Radiation, chemo, surgery for both cancers on the same day with two surgical teams and two robots, and chemo follow-up (M D Anderson, Houston). When God graced him with mercy, he has prayed that God would make his end better than his beginning in ministry.

Jim is married to Judy since 2003 and they share five adult children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He enjoys England Premiere League Soccer--Man United; Baseball--Texas Rangers; and American Football. Reading history and classic literature is a passion.
